THIS IS NORMAL is about a young Deaf woman named Gwen who undergoes an experimental medical procedure that is supposed to 'cure' her of her deafness and give her the ability to hear. Despite the controversy, Gwen risks her friends, culture, and identity to discover the answer to the question, 'Is it worth giving up who you've been for the 'maybe' you could BECOME?'

It is an arthouse narrative of colliding love stories, triggered by a pained Jennifer Anderson’s passionate and tumultuous journey to find her birth parents. After getting a lead as to her parents' whereabouts, Jennifer's actions cause heartbreak that snowballs into a crime-of-passion. The resulting crime is investigated by the famously meticulous and no-nonsense Detective Simon Willis of the Sign Language Police Department (SLPD).
Why is always chasing love on Kickstarter? Jadolphus Fraser started the journey of making this film with the goal that it be self-funded. Unfortunately, while in the finishing stages of post-production, he suffered the catastrophe that all creators fear the crashing of hard drives, both primary and back-up, simultaneously. Despite being devastated by this calamity, Jadolphus adhered to his commitment to finish the film, and once again embarked upon re-producing and directing this unique film from pre-production to completion. However, his financial resources are now depleted, thus bringing him to Kickstarter.
