Seri Motorola Droid Turbo memang belum mendapat update untuk OS Lollipop 5.0 hingga saat ini. Namun, sebuah kabar menyebutkan bahwa smartphone tersebut akan langsung mendapatkan pembaruan Android Lollipop terbaru, 5.1.

Dilansir laman GSMArena, Kamis (19/3/2015), mungkin para pengguna seri Droid Turbo masih harus menanti beberapa waktu hingga update piranti lunak tersebut benar-benar dilakukan. Google sendiri sampai saat ini baru memberikan OS Android Lollipop 5.1 untuk pengguna Nexus 6 yang merupakan smartphone buatan mereka sendiri.

Meski begitu, Motorola diperkirakan akan memberikan update untuk seri Motorola Droid ini dalam waktu dekat. Alasan penghematan sumber daya diduga menjadi alasan di balik perusahaan yang telah diakusisi Lenovo tersebut untuk melewati Android 5.0 dan langsung memberikan versi Lollipop 5.1.

Droid Turbo sendiri ditenagai prosesor Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 dengan kecepatan 2.7GHz dan chip grafis Adreno 420. Serta dukungan memori RAM sebesar 3GB dan memori penyimpanan internal dengan varian kapasitas 32 dan 64GB. Ponsel pintar itu juga disenjatai kamera sebesar 21MP pada bagian utama (belakang) dan menggunakan kamera depan sebesar 2MP serta kapasitas baterai 3.900mAh yang diklaim mampu digunakan hingga 24 jam penuh.

Windows 10 Bakal Gunakan Teknologi Biometrik

Sistem operasi terbaru Windows 10 memungkinkan pengguna untuk sign in ke perangkatnya tanpa menggunakan password. Namun, harus diganti dengan biometrik, seperti pengenal wajah.

Microsoft mengungkapkan bahwa fitur Windows Hello dapat mendukung autentik biometrik sebagai usaha untuk mengurangi penggunaan kata kunci yang sering kali di-hack. Artinya, untuk membuka kunci perangkat diperlukan pendeteksian wajah, mata, dan sidik jari pengguna. Hal tersebut dipaparkan oleh Wakil Presiden Microsoft Joe Belfiore pada posting-an blog.

Langkah ini diambil menyusul adanya laporan mengenai hacking ke database yang dapat menyebabkan pencurian identitas dan kejahatan lain. Apple serta Samsung sudah mulai menyematkan sensor fingerprint pada smartphone mereka, kini jenis-jenis biometrik lain sedang dikembangkan di berbagai produk dan layanan.

Raksasa software itu telah mulai menguji untuk Windows 10 yang sedang dikembangkan pada PC dan perangkat mobile seperti smartphone serta tablet. Sayangnya, belum ada kabar kapan perangkat Windows 10 dengan kemampuan biometrik itu akan diluncurkan.

LG L90 Dapat Pembaharuan OS Android 5.0 Lollipop

Setelah rilis pembaharuan sistem operasi Android 5.0 telah resmi hadir, sejumlah vendor kini berlomba untuk menghadikan pembaharuan untuk perangkat besutannya, tak terkecuali LG. Produsen asal Korea ini, kabarnya telah resmi mendatangkannya untuk seri LG L90.

Seri L90 sendiri sebenarnya adalah perangkat smartphone yang diklaim hadir untuk kelas menengah, resmi dirilis pada tahun 2014. Hadir dengan dimensi layar 4,7 inci dan dukungan prosesor Snapdragon 400 dan kekuakatan kamera 8MP utama dengan OS Android KitKat 4.4.

Kini, seri tersebut telah berhasil mendapat pembaharuan sistem untuk Android 5.0 untuk dua seri sekaligus, baik versi single SIM card maupun untuk versi Dual SIM. Pembaharuan ini sendiri kabarnya hadir dengan kapasitas file sebesar 780 MB.

Beberapa fitur yang diperbaiki dalam perangkat ini sendiri adalah tampilan antarmuka, serta beberapa fitur lainnya seperti layar notifikasi. demikian seperti dikutip dari laman situs GSMarena, Kamis (19/3/2015).

TV Producer Arrested For Murder Of Deaf Sister

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO [CC] - Talk-Show producer arrested in connection with death of Deaf, partially blind sister.

LOS ANGELES - Television producer Jill Blackstone was released from custody Wednesday after her arrest in connection to the death of her Deaf, partially blind sister, authorities said.

About 12:40 p.m. Saturday, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to a home in the 12000 block of Landale Street in Studio City, said Los Angeles police Lt. Bob Toledo.

Blackstone’s sister Wendy Blackstone, 49, was found unconscious in an enclosed garage where carbon monoxide had filled the room, Toledo said. A dead animal also was found in the garage.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Wendy Blackstone, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of her death has not been determined pending further investigation, including toxicology tests, according to the coroner’s office.

Jill Blackstone, 52, was arrested Monday night on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to arrest records.

A suicide note recovered at the home was believed to have been penned by Jill Blackstone, not her late sister, according to the website TMZ, which first reported the arrest.

Blackstone was released from custody about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records. Prosecutors have not filed charges against her, Toledo said.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office did not respond to an after-hours request for comment. Jill Blackstone also did not immediately respond to several requests for comment.

She has produced numerous television shows, including the “Rosie O’Donnell Show” and the “Sally Jessy Raphael Show,” according to her personal website. She also produced a 1993 episode of “The Jerry Springer Show,” according to the Internet Movie Database. SOURCE

WFD - A Voice For Deaf Refugees

VIDEO [CC] - World Federation of the Deaf - A Voice for Deaf Refugees in American Sign Language by Isidore Niyongabo.

This video is about the first initiative to promote proper identification and humanitarian services for Deaf people in refugees camp, particularly those in developing countries.

It is a narrative debriefing of the first phase of this campaign as the the Author will travel to Republic of Turkey to present his research and findings at the World Federation of the Deaf World Congress in July 2015.

The purpose of this video if to raise funds for the first phase of this project.

Friends, colleagues and future unknown donnors, could you imagine being a Deaf person in living in refugee or displaced camps or striving through natural disasters or war zone in developing countries? Well, I have lived half my life through and I know first-hand how hard it can be. During my Graduate studies at the University of San Diego's Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, I was given the provileges to explore the current situation faced by other millions of Deaf men, women and children in developing countries.
