Some Christians claimed that they used to be Atheists. I want to dispute this claim and examine it critically. I propose that they never were really Atheists in the first place. The controversy covers on what transpired on Facebook's DWKFV (Deaf World Kiss Fist Vlogs) between Gabe Gardea & Diva DaWayneOlds. Gabe called Diva a faggot, Diva responded sarcastically that he'd rape Gabe's daughter. Gabe and others tried to make a mountain out of a molehill.
Truth be told, both are stupid. Gabe was wrong to call him a faggot, Diva was wrong to make fun of rape. And it is disturbing that people ignored Gabe's actions and went after Diva instead. The worst offender of the whole thing is: Scotty Jackson. he tried to fan the hatred of LGBT by going after Diva & me. I repeatedly told them that both are wrong. And it is no big deal.
However, seeing their (many Deaf people) reactions as a parent is quite disturbing. Their behaviors as parents of their kids has ultimately convinced me not to rear a child. Their behavior has reinforced my belief that if anyone wants to have a child, they need to get some kind of license! Source

Sabrina Blount is a Deaf African-American woman and a single mother who was kidnapped, abused, raped, robbed and left for dead in North Carolina. She needs 20,000 to take care of Sabrina's health as she had to be rehabbed & recover from the severe injuries.
On other hand, Ed & Lisa Bosson are Deaf white couple from Texas who lived in a well-to-do neighborhoods in Wimberley about 20-25 miles southwest of Austin. They lived in a house which has the Blanco River right behind their backyard. And they got flooded - only downstairs were destroyed. Ed & Lisa made lots of good salaries when they worked at Texas School for the Deaf, University of Texas, Texas Public Utility Commission and CEO of Convo Relay. They asked for 30,000 dollars to replace what they lost in their home.

There are many unfortunate Deaf people that needs this funding. The Bossons are not poor. They are well-to-do couple. Their home costs over 500,000 dollars. Their home is pretty huge 2,197 sq foot with 2.6 acres.
Ed used to work for Texas PUC as Administrator - earned over $100,000. I'm sure they have money hidden away, they did not want to touch that, they only wanted to use people's funds to replace what they lost.
Right now, Austin Lawn Service owned by Paul Rutowski is volunteering to clean Ed's property for free which is very nice of him and his company to do. But there are many Deaf people who are going through the same thing, will Paul do the same for others? I think not. So it appears to me that they are practicing elitism at its worst. -Ridor9th

Why fundraising campaign? On April 7, 2015, two men, who she thought were her friends, drove her from Fayetteville to Raleigh against her will. They got her drunk and drugged her, then raped her. Not only that, they drove their vehicle over her body twice in a parking lot then left her there alone.
Four weeks later, she is still hospitalized. She will have surgeries because almost all of her organs are involved in the damage. Her mother has lost her job and house because she has to take care of her. Sabrina has an 18 month old baby who is being taken care of by her grandmother for now - Watch video in ASL.

Alameddine came up with the idea after starting his popular blind-dining restaurant O.Noir in Montreal and Toronto and Dark Table in Vancouver, where guests dine in complete darkness while they are served by visually impaired staff. The concept aims to give customers a taste, albeit briefly, of what it’s like to be blind.
Although the business helped provide jobs for Blind people, Alameddine said he realized a need for employment opportunities to benefit the Deaf community.

Exclusive: How do you sign "new" words? The Deaf community works as a network, collectively brainstorming new sign language term over the web, until dominant emerge.
Hope&Fears - As language evolves, the powers that regulate language tend to shift. Just look at the Oxford English Dictionary, who added terms like “duck face,” “lolcat,” and “hawt” to their prestigious lexicon this past December. For the English-speaking world, these additions are anywhere from ridiculous to annoying but at the end of the day, the terms are accepted and agreed upon.
But how do these new, internet-laden turns of phrase enter the sign language community? Was there a way of expressing “selfie” in ASL, was there a sign for “photobomb?” Our simplistic question turned into a larger conversation about the nature of communication.
We turned to Bill Vicars, the president and owner of an organization called Lifeprint, a company who educates through “technology-enhanced delivery of ASL Instruction, excursion-based instruction (trips to amusement parks), and extended-immersion-based program coordination (intense two-week residencies).”
Vicars himself is Deaf/HH, which means he is hard of hearing and culturally Deaf as he has immersed himself in the Deaf community. “In addition to my co workers, the majority of my friends are Deaf… my wife is Deaf,” Vicars explains. (Capitalizing ‘Deaf’ refers to the Deaf community, as noted by Carol Padden and Tom Humphries, in Deaf in America: Voices from a Culture (1988), “We use the lowercase deaf when referring to the audiological condition of not hearing, and the uppercase Deaf when referring to a particular group of deaf people who share a language - American Sign Language (ASL) - and a culture.”)
